I ask you to complete the puppy questionnaire as I feel that to take home a Fairway Creek Puppy is a privilege.  We have an extensive waitlist, and send some of our puppies to homes where they become Assistance dogs, therapy dogs and companion dogs.  We like to connect with our puppy families - particularly the families where the puppies that are going to become pets.  I like to know a bit about you, where and how you live and the lifestyle your pet is going to live.  I select the puppies from our litters to best match your lifestyle.  It would be remiss of me to send a highly driven excitable puppy home to an elderly couple or a family with a new baby.  I need to find the puppy that will best suit each person that comes to us. 

I believe it is important for a puppy to be desexed between 12 and 18 months of age to allow for proper physical and hormonal development, while still ensuring long-term health and behavioural benefits. This timing helps support optimal joint, muscle, and reproductive system maturity. 

I strongly oppose backyard breeding and believe desexing plays a key role in preventing unwanted litters, reducing health risks, and promoting responsible pet ownership. I request a veterinary certificate be provided following the procedure as proof of desexing.

If you would like to own a Dogs Australia Mains Registered dog to breed or show, please discuss this with me.  I do occasionally sell my dogs on a Mains registration.

At Fairway Creek Retrievers,  we truly believe the solid foundation of training that we put into our puppies from a very young age sets them up for success in being trained to become dogs with a career as well as easily trainable family pets.  We give our puppies the best possible start to their lives and encourage you to continue with their training to maximise their potential.

We only have limited numbers of litters a year which means we are not overbreeding our girls.  We keep you updated on our litters and where you are on our waitlist with every litter we have.  I will also send you to other great breeders if I know that they have puppies available.  

No - puppies are not genetic screened or hip and elbow screened.  The puppy parents are health checked and have hip/elbow scores done, genetics screening for all breed related hereditary health issues, have an eye clearance and an cardiac clearance from specialist vets.  The puppies from the parents that have been throughly health checked are considered genetically clear due to their parents and the hip and elbows of that puppy should genetically be strong.  However - please read more on hip and elbow testing - factors that can influence hip and elbow dysplasia are environmental as well as genetic.

Yes - due to the extensive health checks of the parent dogs, our puppies come with a health guarantee.  Our puppies are wormed every 2 weeks from birth and have a 6 week health check when they have their vaccination and microchip inserted. A copy of the 6 week health check will be given to the purchaser.

If the purchaser attends a vet health check within 72 hours of purchase where a vet says the puppy is not healthy, a full refund will be given if the puppy is returned. (veterinarian documentation must be provided)

We have bred our puppies with great care and due diligence to minimise hereditary health issues.  In the unlikely event that your puppy is diagnosed by a licensed vet with a congenital defect that could not have been tested for at the time of sale, we will refund the purchase price of the puppy.  This refund is available up to the age of 12 months old.

Yes - after 6 weeks of age when we have decided on the puppy for you, we would welcome you to come and visit your puppy and the puppies mother.  We dont keep our stud dogs at our property, and some of our mothers are also not part of our household.  But we are happy for you to arrange a time to come and meet us, our dogs and the puppies.

We arrange for you to have a seatbelt connector for your puppy.  We like your puppy to either be held (while securely strapped into your car) or in a travel crate.  I will supply you with some wipes for the occasional vomit that puppy may do on the way home;  I also give you a portable puppy drinking water bottle.  You may want to bring a blanket or towel to put your puppy on your lap for the journey.  Your puppy will also come with a collar and lead should you need to take your puppy out of the car.  (you do not want your puppy to run off so you must put the lead on it if you are getting out)

Yes - we can certainly arrange for your puppy to be flown to an airport near you.  The puppy will need a vet check prior to flying. This and the transport costs will be covered by the puppy purchaser.  I will not allow a puppy to fly unless it is 10 weeks domestic travel or 14 weeks international.

We like to be open and clear in what is expected from our puppy sales.  We genuinely care about every puppy that leaves our property.  We feel that a puppy contract of sale protects our puppies somewhat from unfortunate incidents that may occur in their lives.
